Our next show will be ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’ which will be performed from 27th-31st March 2012 at the Princes Hall Theatre, Aldershot. Rehearsals and auditions will take place at Velmead Junior School, Velmead Road, Fleet, Hampshire, GU52 7LG.
The principals' and dance auditions will take place on Sunday 16th October from 2pm to 6pm at Velmead Junior School. Please see the attached schedule for details of the characterisation that Sue is looking for in each part. The audition material will be available back stage during ‘Pirates’ show week, and at the two subsequent meetings. Please note that all non-members who wish to audition for a principal part are required to pay a £5 audition fee which will be deducted from their yearly subscription in the event of a successful audition. All previous full members who have allowed their membership to lapse will be regarded as non-members and will also be liable for the audition fee.
There will be a full rehearsal on Tuesday 18th October 2011 starting at 8.00pm, and all cast are asked to attend. There will be a full cast read through and staggered sing through of the music, as it is important for all the cast to understand the chronology of the action of the show.
Scores and libretti will be available for loan, but please bring your cheque book to this rehearsal as a deposit of £30 will be required before books are issued, i.e. no cheque – no books. Your uncashed cheque will be returned to you at the end of the rehearsal season on safe return of your books. New members’ chorus auditions will take place at approximately 9.30pm after this rehearsal. Please bring along a song of your own choice, with a copy for the pianist.
All rehearsals for the show will be held at Velmead Junior School unless you are advised otherwise. Please note we would ask that if any member of the cast is unable to attend rehearsals, you should notify the production team as appropriate:
